Louis Vuitton Combines Form and Function in Travel Furniture Collection
By#legendJanuary 26, 2016
Louis Vuitton has long been a brand that seeks to reinvent. Its new Objets Nomades collection of foldable furniture and travel accessories is a bold new concept combining form and function. The hammocks, multipurpose briefcases, portable travel cabinets, foldable loungers, beds, beach chairs and lights were all inspired by the nomadic lifestyle of the Louis Vuitton customer, and by its signature trunks and luggage. The pieces – first unveiled at Design Miami in 2012 – carry the brand’s distinctive aesthetic, and collaborators include Patricia Urquiola, Maarten Baas, the Campana Brothers, Barber and Osgerby, Damien Langlois-Meurinne, Atelier Oï, Nendo, Gwenaël Nicolas, Raw Edges and Marcel Wanders.
