A Norwegian-Designed Megayacht Proves to Be High Impact, Low Energy
By#legendSeptember 26, 2016
Norwegian industrial design studio Hareide has unveiled its concept for a 108-metre megayacht that is designed to cause minimal damage to the environment. The design sees the vessel clad with solar panels that charge lithium-ion batteries to generate enough power to drive electric motors for steady coastal cruising. Diesel-electric propulsion would allow greater speed in the open ocean. The yacht features an array of amenities, including a 20-metre swimming pool, garden and helicopter pad.
