We Love This Korean-Inspired Jacket From Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel
By#legendJanuary 26, 2016
Drawing inspiration from the Korean hanbok, Karl Lagerfeld reinterprets the traditional jacket for Chanel. The result is a patchwork-esque, kaleidoscopic explosion of bright colours, where fuchsia pink, coral, celadon, turquoise and royal blue melt into woven tweeds and textured cotton, as well as shantung and lace. Delicate florals are married with marquetry-style embroideries and the label’s camellia signature appears in the form of brooches and hair pins. Lagerfeld once again manages to tell the story of Asian sophistication with a contemporary spirit.
