What started as a quirky trend among Gen-Z trendsetters in South Korea has officially gone mega-viral across the K-pop industry. Known as "Lucky Turtles", these small, raised resin charms are far more than just cute phone accessories, having evolved into the ultimate fusion of everyday fashion and playful manifestation.

The trend first caught the internet’s eye when Twice’s Nayeon and Kiss of life’s Haneul posted casual mirror selfies showcasing a charming parade of tiny turtles marching down their phone cases. But it was Ateez's San who sent the craze into overdrive. Eagle-eyed fans quickly spotted that both Seonghwa and San had adorned their sleek black cases with the vibrant 3D turtles. During a recent livestream, San adorably confessed that he kept seeing the Lucky Turtles everywhere among Korea’s younger generation and simply couldn’t resist joining the fun himself.

Much of the Lucky Turtle phenomenon’s appeal comes from its charming colour-coded manifestation system. Each shade is believed to carry a specific blessing, letting fans curate their lineup according to what they hope to attract. Pink turtles represent love and romance, green and red symbolise health and vitality, while yellow and gold stand for wealth and financial prosperity. San, notably, chose blue for career success and purple for pure serendipitous good fortune.

Because K-pop beauty and fashion move at lightning speed, the phenomenon hasn’t stayed confined to tech accessories for long. Nail artists across Seoul are now embedding these miniature 3D turtle charms directly onto gel manicures, pairing them with translucent pastel bases and jelly finishes. These textured "Lucky Turtle manicures" allow fans to literally carry good vibes at their fingertips.
