Jacob & Co. 2026: 5 novelties that redefine time

At Jacob & Co., watchmaking has never been confined to timekeeping alone. It exists as a space for storytelling as much as technical invention. This year’s novelties continue that approach, bringing together five creations spanning cinema, high jewellery, mythology, industrial design and personal narrative. Each reflects the house’s pursuit of pushing boundaries – where time is interpreted through craft and imagination. Here’s a closer look at the five timepieces that define this vision

The Godfather II

Building on one of Jacob & Co.’s most recognisable collections, The Godfather II refines the idea of the musical timepiece. Set within a newly designed curved rectangular case with Art Deco influences, it plays two compositions – "The Godfather’s Waltz" and "The Godfather Love Theme" – through a single music box barrel, a rare dual-melody complication in contemporary watchmaking.

Powered by the JCAM62 calibre, the watch pairs a one-minute flying tourbillon with a melody selector at 10 o’clock and an activation pusher at 8 o’clock. Each tune plays for up to 20 seconds, supported by a dedicated power reserve for the music mechanism alongside a 72-hour movement reserve. The design carries cinematic references throughout, from the noir-inspired lacquer dial to the portrait of Don Corleone. Limited to 74 pieces, the edition subtly nods to the film’s 1974 release.

Billionaire Double Tourbillon Angel Cut

Marking its 40th anniversary, Jacob & Co. introduces the Angel Cut, a proprietary diamond cut developed entirely in-house. Defined by 37 precisely engineered facets, it approaches brilliance through precise control rather than excess—directing light with a softer, more continuous glow while preserving material yield, a long-standing challenge in gemology.

The cut makes its debut in the Billionaire Double Tourbillon, where nearly 300 diamonds totalling around 79 carats are set across the case and dial. Paired with twin flying tourbillons, the piece creates a dialogue between light and motion, precision and radiance. More than a design variation, the Angel Cut signals a shift in how the House approaches gem-setting, moving towards a proprietary visual language.

God of Time

With God of Time, Jacob & Co. redefines one of watchmaking’s most established complications, presenting the fastest tourbillon ever created. Its tourbillon completes a full rotation every four seconds – around 15 times faster than the traditional one-minute standard – enabled by a newly developed calibre engineered for extreme lightness and controlled energy efficiency.

Framing this technical achievement is a sculptural representation of Chronos, drawn from Greek mythology. A hand-crafted rose gold figure dominates the dial against a blue aventurine backdrop, while the case echoes the architecture of classical pillars, reinforcing a sense of monumentality. Despite its mechanical intensity, the watch maintains a 60-hour power reserve, underscoring the discipline behind its dramatic execution.

Oil Pump 43mm

In contrast, the Oil Pump 43mm revisits one of Jacob & Co.’s most unconventional designs, refining it into a more wearable format. Now housed in a 43mm case – down from the previous 49.5mm – the piece introduces titanium and black DLC alongside rose gold accents, reducing weight while sharpening contrast.

At its centre is an animated dial powered by the JCAM53 automatic movement, where miniature pump jacks move rhythmically, echoing the mechanics of oil extraction. Activated via the crown, the animation brings a sense of continuous motion to the watch, transforming an industrial reference into mechanical theatre. Limited to 99 pieces, it reflects a shift towards lighter construction while retaining its distinctive identity.

The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone

Originally inspired by a symbolic gift from his father when he turned 13, The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone traces back to the early life of Jacob Arabo, founder of Jacob & Co. The piece evolves this year with new green and grey executions, while retaining its defining feature: dual time displays at 12 and 6 o’clock, each independently adjustable down to the minute, offering a precise way to track multiple locations.

The dial, engraved with a world map, reinforces global movement, while variations in Roman, Arabic and Eastern Arabic numerals introduce a subtle cultural dimension. Presented in both a steel case with a black and grey dial and a rose gold version with a green and gold dial, the watch is limited to 999 pieces. At its core, it carries forward a simple message – that the world, and the time that shapes it, is open to exploration.
