5 essential Freen Sarocha projects to watch, from "GAP" to "The Air"

Happy birthday, Freen! As the Thai actress celebrates her 28th birthday on August 8, there is no better time to revisit the projects that have defined her rise to international fame. Best known for helping bring Thai GL dramas to a global audience alongside Becky Armstrong, Freen has since expanded into period romance, science fiction, horror and action. Whether you are already a fan or only just discovering her work, here are five projects that deserve a place on your watchlist

GAP: The Series (2022–2023)

There is no better place to start than GAP: The Series, Freen’s breakout project and her first leading series with Becky Armstrong. Freen plays Sam, an intimidating company president, while Becky stars as Mon, a cheerful new employee who has idolised Sam since childhood. When they finally meet again, Mon discovers that her hero is far colder than expected. As admiration turns into romance, the pair must navigate their age and class differences, as well as fierce family opposition. The series launched Freen internationally and established the hugely popular Freen-Becky partnership.

Uranus 2324 (2024)

For something far more ambitious, Uranus 2324 takes Freen and Becky’s familiar chemistry beyond Earth—and even beyond a single reality. Freen stars as Lin, an astronaut who reconnects with Kath, her former love and a deep-sea diver played by Becky, after 15 years apart. When Lin loses contact during a space mission while Kath faces danger beneath the ocean, their love story begins unfolding across parallel worlds. Blending romance, grief and science fiction, the film offers an emotional and visually expansive watch unlike anything else in Freen’s filmography.

The Loyal Pin (2024)

Those in the mood for a sweeping period romance should turn to The Loyal Pin. Set in mid-20th-century Thailand, the series stars Freen as the elegant and emotionally restrained Lady Pin, opposite Becky as the playful and free-spirited Princess Anin. After seven years apart, Anin returns from England determined to reveal her feelings, and their childhood friendship blossoms into a secret romance. With royal expectations and Pin’s arranged marriage threatening to separate them, the series pairs Freen’s quietly emotional performance with lavish costumes, grand palaces and plenty of high-society drama.

The Stain (2026)

For something much darker than Freen’s better-known romances, her latest horror film, The Stain, is well worth adding to your watchlist. She plays Namsai, a therapist closely connected to Pran, an apartment owner whose life becomes entangled with Malee, a troubled young woman returning to a place linked to her childhood. As desire, jealousy and buried trauma pull the four central characters together, a fatal incident awakens the building’s sinister past, giving Freen one of her most unsettling roles yet.

4 Elements: The Air (2026)

Finish your watchlist with one of Freen’s toughest roles to date. Reuniting with Becky Armstrong for their first series together in two years, 4 Elements: The Air sees Freen suit up as police lieutenant Lom. Becky plays Princess Catherine, a visiting royal placed under Lom’s protection after becoming the target of an assassination plot. Forced into hiding together, they face political conspiracies and constant danger as their relationship grows increasingly personal. The series blends action, royal intrigue and forbidden romance while bringing back the pair’s much-loved chemistry.
