International Cat Day returns on 8 August, celebrating our feline companions while raising awareness of cat welfare and responsible pet ownership. First established in 2002, the occasion is also the perfect chance to spotlight some of K-pop’s most devoted cat lovers. From G-Dragon to Lisa, meet six idols who proudly embrace life as cat parents

G-Dragon is the proud owner of two cats, Zoa and Iye, although Iye makes fewer public appearances. Zoa later inspired ZO&FRIENDS, a character universe co-created with IPX, formerly LINE FRIENDS. Through merchandise and pop-up events, the project has turned his beloved feline companion into a star in her own right.

Lisa is also one of K-pop’s most famous cat parents. Collectively known as the “L Family”, Leo, Luca, Lily, Louis and Lego regularly appear across the BLACKPINK star’s social media. They even have their own Instagram account, @lalala_lfamily, which has attracted around three million followers—making Lisa’s feline family nearly as recognisable as their superstar owner.

Daniel regularly shares stories about them with fans and once even thanked his feline “sisters” during an award speech.

After first raising them in the WayV dorms, Ten later moved into his own apartment with them. They frequently appear on his social media and have even inspired his artwork, bringing together two of his biggest passions.
