5 K-dramas to watch if you loved "Agent Kim Reactivated"

With "Agent Kim Reactivated" now officially over, many viewers are already missing So Ji-sub's Kim Do-hyeon and the series' irresistible mix of espionage, revenge, action and family drama. Since its release, the Netflix hit has won audiences over with its explosive fight scenes, dark humour and emotional twists. If you're suffering from post-Agent Kim Reactivated withdrawal, these five K-dramas should be next on your watchlist

My Secret Terrius (2018)

For viewers who loved So Ji-sub as an ordinary man hiding a dangerous secret, My Secret Terrius should be your first stop. Years before Agent Kim Reactivated, the actor played Kim Bon, a legendary NIS agent forced into hiding after a failed mission. When his neighbour Go Ae-rin loses her husband in a mysterious conspiracy, Kim Bon unexpectedly finds himself becoming a babysitter while helping her uncover the truth. Like Agent Kim Reactivated, the series strikes the perfect balance between espionage, action, comedy and heartwarming family moments.

Taxi Driver (2021-2025)

Although Taxi Driver replaces secret agents with vigilantes, the two dramas share a remarkably similar spirit. Lee Je-hoon stars as Kim Do-gi, a former special forces officer who works for the clandestine Rainbow Taxi organisation, helping victims take revenge when the legal system fails them. Packed with elaborate disguises, exhilarating action scenes and plenty of dark humour, the series became one of Korea's biggest television hits and has already expanded into a second and third season. If you enjoyed the revenge-driven side of Agent Kim Reactivated, this one is essential viewing.

The K2 (2016)

If Kim Do-hyeon's return to the world of espionage was your favourite part of Agent Kim Reactivated, then The K2 deserves a place on your list. Ji Chang-wook stars as Kim Je-ha, a former mercenary who is framed for murder before being recruited as a bodyguard for a powerful political family. As he becomes entangled in a dangerous web of corruption while protecting the candidate's secret daughter, Je-ha must rely on all of his skills to survive. Expect conspiracies, betrayals and plenty of spectacular fight scenes.

My Name (2021)

Han So-hee cemented her status as an action star with My Name, one of Netflix's most acclaimed Korean thrillers. The series follows Yoon Ji-woo (Han So-hee), a young woman who joins a powerful criminal organisation after witnessing her father's murder. Taking on a new identity, she infiltrates the police force while secretly searching for the truth behind his death. Darker, bloodier and more emotionally intense than Agent Kim Reactivated, the drama explores many of the same themes of revenge, betrayal, loyalty and hidden identities.

Vagabond (2019)

If you're looking for an even bigger dose of espionage and conspiracy, Vagabond is difficult to beat. Lee Seung-gi stars as stuntman Cha Dal-geon, whose life changes forever after his nephew dies in a mysterious plane crash. Joining forces with NIS agent Go Hae-ri, played by Bae Suzy, he uncovers a sprawling web of political corruption, corporate greed and betrayal. Much like Agent Kim Reactivated, the series blends explosive action with an emotionally charged story of loss, revenge and redemption.
